Romance, Finance ... and Parents?

What Do Mom and Dad Have to Do with How Much Love and Money You Have Now?

Here's the bottom line: The way your parents treated you tends to become the way you treat yourself … the way you expect others to treat you … and the way you expect to experience Love, Money, Freedom and Life Itself.

Since your expectations create your experience, if you want more Love, Money, and Freedom in your life, you need to become aware of any distorted tendencies around receiving that you’ve inherited from your parents.

Why is that?

Your parents profoundly influence your expectations --> You get what you expect --> What you get depends on how much you are willing to receive – rather than how hard you work, what your horoscope says, or how the economy looks.

So, how can you tell how open are you to receiving Love or Money? Consider this:
  • Does money slip through your fingers as quickly as it comes in?
  • Do you say “No problem” or “It’s nothing” when someone thanks you?
  • When you see good fortune coming your way, do you think “This is too good to be true” or “I don’t believe it – I never get what I want”?

These are subtle ways of refusing your Good without appearing to do so. You do it unconsciously.

It’s not your fault

Often, it’s your parents who taught you to refuse your Good (e.g., “We’re poor but proud” or “Who do you think you are?”).

They couldn’t accept Love, Money or Freedom because their parents taught them these were wrong, bad, or against the will of God. That’s all they knew, so ...

It’s not their fault, either

Are you willing now to let go of the pain caused by refusing your Good?

Would you like to expand and illuminate your understanding of Giving and Receiving now?

Would you like to release your refusal of Good that is rightfully yours – and to know what to do instead, and make it that you do it now with confidence and joy?

If so, say “Yes” out loud now and feel what you feel, hear what you hear, see what you see, and know what you know.

If you sense nothing, that’s fine. However you experience this is exactly right.

Good job! Well done!
